Artistic Director, Bonnie Kaye has been in business in the Performing Arts field for over 38 years offering classes for all ages in an array of the arts. She continues to expand her program in the Twin Cities area (Burnsville, Woodbury and Maple Grove) and has put together a phenomenal staff of highly gifted teachers. In the Company of Kids still remains the first social skills theater, dance arts center providing a wonderful safe environment for all children to experience the arts.
Bonnie is an Autism Education Professional and sits on the Advisory Board of the International Institute of Education Standards (Autism Advisory Team)

Intergenerational Program Bringing Seniors and Children together for “MAGICAL MOMENTS AND ARTISTIC EXPRESSION”
In the Company of Kids Creative Arts Center “Welcoming Kids of ALL ages!”
Everyone knows that we are all kids at heart, no matter what age we are.Seniors have so much to give and offer to our younger generation.In the Company of Kids is a place where everyone is welcome, all ages and all abilities.It is a place where everyone is special and has much to contribute.Children love hearing the stories of what it was like for Seniors when they were growing up, our kids can even act out their very own stories for them.With the help of our Acting Teachers we are able to create a skit acting out the Senior’s story and video record it as well.They will be the Star in their own movie.What a wonderful cherished memory and Legacy this would be for any family.
Our program will include listening to your favorite music from the past, singing songs, dancing, storytelling, acting, puppetry, reading and so much more.Would you love to spend some time being creative and enjoy being with children?What a great way to get moving, stimulation, meet sensory needs, and experience the Arts in a beautiful facility with fun for all.Our Center is located in the lovely River Ridge Arts Bldg. in Burnsville, just across from Skateville.Our building is handicap accessible and everyone is welcome.Include us in your weekly schedule and outings. Pkg 1.Weekly program held at Center- 4 weeks (ongoing) Time:1 hour 15 minutes meeting once each week - includes refreshment and social time
Pkg. 2 Weekly program – 4 weeks same as above, plus visit to home for story to put into a play.This will require a home visit by one of our staff to meet with the Senior as well as the Teacher writing and creating the script.It will then be put into a play to berehearsed and performed for the Senior.A video will be taken of the play and given to the participant.

We envision a place where all people, young and old, could learn about the joy, freedom, and power of embracing the Creative Spirit. The Center provides opportunities to develop self confidence and awareness through artistic and creative experiences and enhances communication and understanding in a non competitive environment. Students learn life-long skills in communication, social skills, problem solving, confidence building, etc. We offer performing opportunities to ALL students in a number of Community events, Programs, Theatre, and end of the year performance.

Theatre - Acting - Voice - Puppetry
Ages 6 & up
Using theatre and movement games, the students will explore a range of dramatic scenarios. They will create short original pieces, study character development and will perform regularly for each other. It is here where they will be given the tools to become a performing artist. Children love to audition for School plays, communty theater, etc. but they do not have the proper training to secure the parts that they are striving for. Acting classes will offer the techniques to learn the proper skills.
Voice lessons are offered for students in a small group ensemble or private lesson. Students will sing a variety of styles of music including showtunes, Broadway musicals, pop, etc. They perform as a group and individually. They will also work on Stage Voice, Speaking, Diction, Vocal Projection, etc. so they can prepare for future acting performances, auditions, and presentations in front of an audience. Classes are held back to back for the convenience of the parents and students since most Acting students take voice lessons as well.
